Nov 14 Portland and Providence Tooooooka

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Another day, another building for the Providence Bruins to skate to victory in.
But this time, there was a twist.
The fans were cheering them every step of the way.
Providence, which reeled off an impressive 8-1-1 season opening string, all of it on the road, finally got to strut their stuff at the newly renovated Dunkin’ Donuts Center, edging the Portland Pirates in a shootout, 3-2, before 6,288.
David Krejci beat Pirate goalie Jonas Hiller in the first shootout round, which proved to be the only tally in the extra session.
The while Krejci also notched assists on both P-Bruin goals in regulation --by Vladimir Sobotka and T.J. Trevelyan-- the real star was Providence net minder Tuukka Rask.
Rask pulled off a handful of eye-popping stops, culminating in one pulled off on the final Pirate shooter, Brandon Segal, which he made the initial stop, then plucked the rebound out of mid air.
“People have asked me how Tuukka’s been doing down here,” said Providence coach Scott Gordon. “To be quite honest with you, he hasn’t had to be the difference. He’s just had to do the job. He hasn’t had to be extraordinary. But tonight he was.”
