Nov. 2 Springfield Mass. On the Atlantic Division showdown

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- First place in the AHL's Atlantic Division was at stake tonight --the Peebs and Springfield. This proved to be no contest....the Peebs won in a walkaway, 4-1. Game was close, 2-1 until Chris Collins scored the first of his two in the third period. Might have been a rout if not for the work of Falcon goalie Jeff Deslauriers.

Have seen plenty of both teams, and like they way they are made up....love the way both play. Providence has won 7 of 8 to start the season...particularly remarkable since they haven't been home yet this season.

Worked the Providence room, then went over to the Falcons. Almost made the mistake of walking in, while coach Kelly Buchberger was giving his Birds a feather dusting, with the handle. A quick glance told me  he wasn't done with them, so I beat a hasty retreat backwards.
