Longoria Will Man the Hot Corner

01Longoria_sm.jpgMLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com -   Evan Longoria, the MLN FAB50 2007 No. 1 prospect, enters the spring next season as the Tampa Bay Rays starter at third.

Longoria was named the 2007 Southern League Player-of-the-Year after batting .307 with 21 home runs and 76 RBI for the Montgomery Biscuits.

Manager Joe Maddon says Longoria already has the makeup of a veteran player.  He sat down for  dinner with the former Long Beach State star during an October trip out to the Arizona Fall League.

"He is a major league caliber person," says Maddon.  "He'll fit in very quickly."
